This Camera Can Slow Down Light

It’s pretty well documented that the speed of light is the universal speed limit of the universe. Nothing travels faster than light, except for shit talk. Facetious? Maybe, but deal with it.

Anyhow, researchers at MIT have invented a camera that Inspector Gadget wishes he had hidden somewhere in that trench coat. This thing has a resolution of one frame per trillionth of a second, meaning it can film light as it travels.

It can also see around corners, but I’m not going to explain that part since I’m a pirate and that’s not exactly my bag. You can skip to about 3:41 to hear that explanation from lads who know what they’re talking about.

Oy! I'm the Viral Pirate, but you can just call me "thepirate," savvy? I'm the moderator here on Viral Pirate and I collect, share, and write up the best booty -- news, media, etc. -- that can be found throughout the four corners of the World Wide Web!
