The Ronaldo Vs. Messi Debate That Went Too Far

I’m gonna settle this ‘debate’ once and for all, right here, right now so that all of you can move on with your lives. Then I’ll get into the Messi vs. Ronaldo debate that went way too far.

Messi is better than Ronaldo.

I’ve consulted with many individuals who were fortunate enough to watch all the greats from Pele on, and one who even played with Johan Cruyff. All of them have given Messi the nod as the greatest player EVER. From what I’ve seen, from a neutral who hates both Barcelona AND Real Madrid, Lionel Messi is clearly the better soccer player. That said, Cristiano Ronaldo is far and away the superior athlete.

Both of them are astounding players, it just so happens that Messi is more technically gifted whereas Ronaldo had to work quite a bit harder to get to where he is.

Yes, Ronaldo has proven that he can do it in the Premier League, but if you’re gonna try and tell me that Messi couldn’t do it on a cold Tuesday night in Stoke then you’re as misguided as Arsene Wenger in the transfer window.

Ronaldo and Messi are two of the greatest players of all time and we’re so extremely fortunate to have them both playing at once. So cut the nonsense and stop debating which of the two is better, because it’s trivial shit.

Moving on.

The Messi v Ronaldo debate can get quite heated at times and while it’s normally just a spirited discussion, or disagreement, it normally doesn’t lead to physical harm.

If the debate does lead to fists being thrown it’s usually nothing an ice pack can’t fix, but  The Hindustan Times are reporting that two Nigerian friends at a birthday party in Mumbai, India, got into a brawl over the debate, leaving one of them dead.

Barcelona fan Obinna Michael Durumchukwa is said to have thrown a glass at his friend Nwabu Chukwuma when the debate turned violent. When the glass missed, Chukwuma then picked up a shard of the broken glass and cut his friend’s throat.

The 22-year-old is now in custody and will likely never watch another game of footy so long as he lives.

This incident comes only a few months after Ronaldo’s statue in Portugal was vandalized by Messi fans. See, those shenanigans are cheeky and fun, but Chukwuma’s are just plain mean… and give a real bad name for Madrid fans… puns.

Can’t we all just get along?
