Ronaldo Has The First Pair Of Self-Lacing HyperAdapt Nike Trainers

Is that Cristiano Ronaldo or Marty McFly? Rhetorical question, obviously.

The Portugal and Real Madrid superstar really loves his fashion, so it’s no surprise that Nike, his sponsor, hook him up with all the latest gear. You can be rest assured that their new kicks will sell like hotcakes, especially since Ronaldo is the first in the world to show them off.

The HyperAdapt 1.0 come with a neon fluorescent light in the sole of the trainer and two buttons on the side loosen or tighten the laces, ensuring that you’ll never have to manually tie your shoes ever again. As you can see in Ronaldo’s tweet, the buttons don’t protrude from the shoe, so they won’t be clunky or awkward to wear . It’s a smooth and sleek design that slips right on your foot and looks like truly futuristic product.

These kicks will truly be the first laceless shoes to hit the market, as the Air Mag weren’t sold commercially. What’s more, the shoe will “remember” your preffered settings after a few wears so you won’t even have to adjust them. There’s one small catch, though. The kicks are battery-powered and the battery lasts two weeks on a single charge, so you’ll have to plug them in like you would your phone.

Other than that, we don’t know is how they’ll perform as a trainer or how they’ll feel for a mid-day stroll… and we also don’t know how much they’ll cost. The HyperAdapt is set to be released later this year.
