Disney owns pretty much everything in the entertainment industry so it’s no surprise that they’ll be making theme parks of their, I hate to say this, their Star Wars property. Two Star Wars-themed attractions are to be built in Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Now get this; you’ll be able to fly in the Millennium Falcon, drink at the cantina and oh so much more.
According to Disney CEO Bob Iger the The 14-acre properties will be employ “local inhabitants” of the various Star Wars worlds. So don’t be surprised when you see Han, Chewie, Lando and others roaming about. At the D23 Expo Iger added that these parks will represent the “largest, single-themed land expansion ever” in Disney’s history.
“These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet, including an epic Star Wars adventure that puts you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance,”
The only thing that Iger didn’t mention is a time frame. So we have no idea when construction will begin and when we can expect to walk amongst our favorite characters. But if it looks anything like the concept art then I’m totally fine waiting… actually, I just want it complete now.
