Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation director Christopher McQuarrie took to Twitter to let the world know that he’s chosen to accept a new mission. And by that we mean make another Mission Impossible movie.
Mission: Accepted #MI6
— ChristopherMcQuarrie (@chrismcquarrie) November 30, 2015
McQuarrie co-wrote and directed Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation in addition to writing and directing Jack Reacher, which was adapted from Lee Child’s novel One Shot. McQuarrie also co-wrote Valkyrie and Edge of Tomorrow. I name dropped those four films because all of them starred Tom Cruise, who McQuarrie has been building a strong relationship with.
There aren’t any details, as of yet, regarding the plot or cast but it’s likely to be released in 2017. So our mission, should we chose to accept it, is to uncover more information about #MI6. Not James Bond’s spy agency, obviously.
