Lupin The Third Is Getting A Reboot

Anime series are extremely underrated and of the best to hit TV screens was Lupin the Third, which is about a master thief and originally ran in the early 1970s. There have been spin-off series since then, but this October there will finally be a brand new Lupin III series coming out. Those of you who are fans of the original will be happy to know that it’s gonna have the same theme song and will be chock full of Fiats and Alfa Romeos- classic 1970s.

Seriously, just try and tell me that doesn’t look like a damn good show? You don’t even need to understand Japanese to be into that video! Anyhow, the show will begin airing in Japan on October 1st and will run 24 episodes. No word on when the English version will come out, but either way we’re in for something sweet.

Fans of the original have even more to be stoked about, as Kazuhide Tomonaga, who worked on the original TV series, will be involved. It’s being co-produced by Italian broadcasting network Mediaset and they’ll begin showing it in Italian on August 30th, so you’ve got options! Now if only they would remaster Cowboy Bebop.
