What could be worse that playing for the NY Knicks? How about barely playing for them and getting shot in the knee after leaving a strip club… or playing for the 76ers, which is pretty much the same thing.
NY Knicks second-year forward Cleanthony Early was shot in the right knee at 4:15 am outside of CityScapes gentlemen’s club on 58th Street in Maspeth, Queens. The 24-year-old was reportedly surrounded by about six men — two of whom were armed — and robbed of all his valuables. They even snagged the gold caps on his teeth.
Cleanthony and his girlfriend left the strip club and hopped in an Uber, when three vehicles boxed their cab in before two men with ski masks and semi-automatic pistols took Early out of the back seat and said “Give me everything you got,”
Early forked over his cash, gold chains, phone, and the aforementioned gold caps before being shot in the right knee. The uber driver was also robbed and the assailants took his ID. The injury isn’t life threatening, but being shot in the knee isn’t exactly good for his playing career.
The Knicks released the following statement.
“We are aware of what occurred with Cleanthony Early this morning and are relieved that he is not in a life-threatening situation,”
“We will not comment any further until we receive more information.”
Knicks and Wichita State players/alum have since taken to social media to send their love to Cleanthony.

Cleanthony Early is the second Knicks player targeted by criminals in the past month, as Derrick Williams was robbed of over $600,000 in jewelry by two women he was partying with about two weeks ago.
