John Cena, Not To Be Outdone By The Rock, Picks Up A New Movie Role

John Cena is a great, big bull who likes flowers… thanks to the magic of animation, that is. Otherwise, he’s an invisible man who just can’t be seen.

You might have noticed that the Rock is then biggest name in Hollywood right now. He’s the highest-paid actor in the world and titles for his next 26 films have even been leaked, showing us once again that he’s the hardest working man in show business. Not to be outdone, Cena has signed up to play the title character in Blue Sky Studios’ upcoming film Ferdinand. He is to be joined by Kate McKinnon, Gina Rodriguez, Daveed Diggs, Gabriel Iglesias, Bobby Cannavale, David Tennant, Anthony Anderson, Flula Borg, Sally Phillips, Boris Kodjoe, Jerrod Carmichael, Raúl Esparza, Karla Martínez, and Miguel Ángel Silvestre.

Yeah, Ms. Frizzle and Doctor Who are going to be in it.

The official studio description of the film explains that “Ferdinand tells the story of a giant bull with a big heart. After being mistaken for a dangerous beast, he is captured and torn from his home. Determined to return to his family, he rallies a misfit team on the ultimate adventure. Set in Spain, Ferdinand proves you can’t judge a bull by its cover.”

While most people who have heard of Ferdinand associate the property with Disney, due to its 1938 animated special that generally airs around Christmas in some countries, the story actually comes from Munro Leaf’s 1936 children’s book The Story of Ferdinand.

The film is slated for a December 15, 2017, release in the United States. And just in case you care, there’s even a nifty guide tying the actors to their beastly counterparts!

I could see the resemblance…

Tis a Scottish breed…

That’s the fluffiest hedgehog I’ve ever seen.

I guess he’s their sheepdog…er…cowdog?

She’s really getting into the Cgi market

So it is safe to say that this movie is going to be about the hedgehogs.

I think he’s named that ’cause his face looks like a skull.

I’ve learned long ago never to question anything named Hans…or Flula…

What the hell is that? Some type of mole…rat…shrew?

The only Spaniard cast in a move set in Spain.
