According to Dong Nguyen’s (Flappybird’s creator) twitter account, the wildly successful game will be coming off of Apple & Google’s app stores. No clear explanation was given by Nguyen.
I am sorry ‘Flappy Bird’ users, 22 hours from now, I will take ‘Flappy Bird’ down. I cannot take this anymore.— Dong Nguyen (@dongatory)
The game has been around for several months, but was recently given viral worthy attention because of an article on BuzzFeed.
The game’s creator supposedly nets $50,000 per day from ad revenues on the game, but has been noted to be apprehensive and uncomfortable because of the attention in the press.
It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep it anymore.— Dong Nguyen (@dongatory)
So, if you don’t have FlappyBird already, make sure you download it before it comes off the digital shelves! You may, however, regret that decision.
