Chanukkah 2016 Has Its Own Line Of Beer

Let’s face it, 2016 has been pretty shite. That said, we’ll be able to end this year on a high since this year, Chanukkah will start on Christmas Eve, December 24. Truly, a holiday miracle! And to celebrate, you can get into the Chanukkah spirit with a special beer coming out real soon!

Mazel tov!

Mazel tov! Bring on the latkes!

The Shmaltz Brewing Company of New York is launching a variety of Chanukkah-themed alcoholic beverages, such as “Genesis 20:20” (a Barrel-Aged Tart Barleywine), “Chanukah, Hanukkah…Pass the Beer” (a Golden Strong Ale with Cocoa Nibs), and “Jewbelation 20” (a Dark American Strong Ale). For the holiday season, they’re even offering a “Messiah Nut Brown Ale,” which is believed to be part of their “Chanukah vs Christmas: The Battle Royale of Beers” theme. Ultimately, it is not just the miracle of the oil they want to celebrate, but the company’s 20th anniversary, as well.

I ain't much of a drinker, but would sufganiyot-flavored beer have been too much to ask?

To celebrate the promotion even further, the company has planned a variety of festivals throughout the United States. The festivals are mostly New York-based, but also stops in states including Nevada and Illinois. Aside from giving out the beer, dreidel tournaments are said to be involved.
