Australian Bon Vivant: Nick De La Hoyde

With the rapper-singer-songwriter movement growing by the day, it’s only right that someone added a few more layers of fusion to the mix.

From the land down under comes Nick de la Hoyde, a multitalented entertainer who has been working on his musical craft while pursuing a soccer career in Spain. The Australian bon vivant’s musical output lies in the realm of pop, and all its alternatives.

The professional polish on de la Hoyde’s music draws from EDM production values, with swelling choruses as well as a powerful low end below spastic trap hi-hat ticks. He combines these pieces with classical piano and string arrangements. His latest singling “Thinking About You” is a testament to this formula’s strength.

Music may well run in the family as Nick is, at times, a lyrical and vocal step above his two brothers John and Joe. Raised in a multi-cultural household and something of a globetrotter, Nick has bounds of experiences to draw from when he pens his personal poetics.

While he’s been recording and releasing music for a while, we’re excited to see what he’ll do to break away from the saturated market, and how his individuality can truly put the pop in pop music.
