Superhero movie reboots are a dime a dozen, and lately British actors have been snatching up all the hero roles. That said, the revelation that Jude Law was eyed up for a Superman reboot is a bit surprising.
Luckily for us, Law didn’t take the role. His reasoning for doing so, however, was a bit ridiculous.
“It [the costume] didn’t float my boat… I just didn’t really want to go there,” Law said on the latest episode of Late Show With Stephen Colbert. “I was always worried about the outfit and I just didn’t fancy it.” In fact, he was sent the costume to try on, and after suiting up and looking in the mirror, he said to himself “no way.”
The Batman vs Superman he was set to star in was slated to be directed by Wolfgang Petersen and would have co-starred Colin Farrell. Again, we got let off the hook BIG TIME. Jude Law and Colin Farrell are both fine actors, but I just can’t see that film working out in any way. Batman with those sad Colin Farrell eyebrows would be pretty hilarious, though. Oh, and Law would’ve been in Watchmen if Paul Greengrass got his way.
One quick thing before we let you go: Nic Cage or Jude Law, who would you have rather sees as Superman?
